He then entered the office of his father-in-law, the late Judge E.  B. Curler, Sr., where he studied law and was admitted to practice law the following year. For more than. 20 years he was associated as attorney for the Washoe County Title Guaranty Company.

Knights of Pythias

Nevada

Mr. Rosenthal had been a member and active leader in the Knights of Pythias order for many years. He was a member of Amity Lodge No. 8 of Reno, and had been keeper of records and seal for many years. He was a past grand chancellor of the grand lodge, and at the annual session in September was reelected as grand keeper of records and seal for the 28th successive year. At that time the grand lodge adopted a resolution of appreciation of Mr. Rosenthal’s long, distinguished and devoted service.

Death & Burial

S. H. Rosenthal, Reno Attorney, Passes at Home
Samuel H. Rosenthal, 71, prominent Reno attorney for many years,and a resident here for' 46 years, died yesterday at his home following a two months illness.. He was stricken with a heart attack in the early fall, and apparently was recovering, when his condition again became critical about 10 days, ago.


Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alice Rosenthal; two daughters, Inez Rosenthal of Reno and Mrs. Vesta Barker of Huntington Park, Calif., and a granddaughter, Barbara Ann Bird.


Friends are invited to attend the funeral at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ross-Burke Company home chapel. Services will be conducted under the direction of the grand lodge, Knights of Pythias, and interment will be in Mountain View cemetery.

Funeral
S.H. ROSENTHAL FUNERAL TODAY
With many friends present, the funeral of Samuel H. Rosenthal, old-time Reno resident and attorney, was held this afternoon.
The rites of the grand lodge of Knights of Pythias were conducted  by Prof. N. E. Wilson, while Fred P. Dann was the chaplain. The music Included solos by Tate Williams and organ numbers by Prof. W. E. Corns. There was a profusion of flowers.


Active pallbearers were all members of the Pythian lodge and close friends of Mr. Rosenthal, and included C. H. Knox, W. P. Thrall, Sidney W. Robinson, Sam Armankco, William Van Tassell and W. T. Aust. The honorary pallbearers, members of the Washoe county bar, were George S. Brown, E. F. Lunsfcrd, H. R. Cooke, Harry Dunseath, John Bernard Foy and A. J. Maestrettl. Burial was in the family plot.
