Merry Christmas Everybody!!

Never has a Christmas passed that it does not bring back vivid, wonderful memories of Granna’s house at Christmas. I am so grateful I was raised in a family that knew how to celebrate Christmas. I went through some of my pictures and wanted to share them with you.

The food and presents were wonderful, but nothing compared with the love and fun we all had together. We watched Christmas movies on TV, went caroling to the neighbors, entertained each other with impromptu recitals of our musical instruments, we sang a lot-on the way to granna’s house, while we were cooking and washing dishes, and at any time the urge hit someone. I am getting old now and may enter my second childhood soon, but these memories are so burned in my spirit, I know I will never forget Christmas at Granna’s.

I want each one of you to have a wonderful Christmas, and to know that I think and love each one of you receiving this e-mail very much.

Every year Granna had the same menu, but it was so good, we would have been disappointed if she changed even one item. We almost had as much anticipation for her cooking as we did for Santa’s presents.

The Tree and Presents

The most awesome thing about Christmas at Granna’s was her beautiful floor to ceiling Christmas tree with all the gifts. It was the equivalent of winning the lottery when you first stepped into her living room. It was always a real tree and the smell of pine floated through the house.
